Is meeting new/potential clients face-to-face an inefficient use of time (and money)?

Unless you’re crazy busy and/or the hottest ticket in town I would err on the side of being more likely to have the face-to-face than not. At tge very least it can be educational. Just try not to give away too much free consulting. -

October 16, 2009 at 8:10 pmIf it’s a client that I’ve done work for in the past and they want to meet with me to talk about a project, I go. If it’s someone new I will get some info up front first and then if it’s something I’m likely to work I, I go.
They can hire any Joe Blow, I’m nothing special, there are a lot of small production companies is my city that do the same thing I do, but in a face-to-face I am selling myself and that has worked out so far.

October 23, 2009 at 4:27 pmFace to face? It doesn’t get any better than that to sell yourself and your services. People do business with people they know and trust. If you can’t get face time in with a potential client, how are they ever going to get to know you?
