Importing AVI’s with alpha channel PAL

I am working in PAL and cannot get it to import files created at a res. of 1024 x 576 uncompressed AVI’s with alpha channel. This method worked well with Xpress Pro 4.6 but not with 5.7

Ok… that’s standard def widescreen PAL using square pixels. However, on import you’ll want to choose the 601/709 non-square pixel import option…which I think you discovered.

You HDV comps should be 1920×1080 square pixels.
16×9 Widescreen PAL SD 1024×576 square pixels.
4×3 PAL SD 768×576 square pixels.

Must be something to do with the alpha channel as I can import 1048 x 576 uncompressed AVI’s and QT’s at 24 bits.

The 32 bit anims still work in premiere as I installed an old version just to check.
