December 29, 2015 at 9:24 pmI have used the Windows Essential Photo Gallery to import several mini DV tapes and it has worked well, however, I have a series of tapes where sections have been cut out. I want to get rid of these sections in the imported video because they are very long and taking up lots of space but I am not sure how I can get rid of these sections while maintaining the same quality and video format/settings. I tried using Sony Vegas Pro 10 to achieve this but when I upload the files, vegas cannot detect any audio until I convert to a different audio codec. I have been messing around with this for several hours but have been unable to come up with a solution. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I have spent over a day trying to overcome this problem. What I essentially want to do is have only the good sections of video imported but one thing I would not like to do is sit around while the file is importing to halt and continue importing when cut out sections begin.
