I came from the world of pro audio five years ago where we have our own well of demons. No excuses, just saying it’s not like I’m sitting on a pillow eating bon-bons. I read everyday and I also write articles, for a living.
I think FCP is fairly brilliant, but sometimes, the WTF factor is larger than others and I have seen that on forums and off, where one day everyone runs to one codec and the next day they run away. Yes, it’s all in motion.
As for doctors I might choose, proctologists with thin fingers are a plus. And I’d prefer any doctor I work with to on board with this: https://www.noetic.org/noetic/issue-three-october/energy-medicine-and-the-multidimensional-model/

Ty Ford

You need to go off of what is listed in the easy setup list. for what codecs are ok to edit with .

Thanks, but that’s not an answer to my question.
In your opinion, what percentage of the setup list is bogus?
Thanks,
Ty Ford

October 31, 2010 at 4:56 pmNone of the setup list is bogus. Look at the Sequence Settings list in AV Settings. Those are the codecs and formats that work with FCP.
If you want to change the setting of a sequence go to Sequence Settings and click Load Presets. This will give you a list of available prests that are supported in FCP. You will not find H.264 in that list.
All the best,
Tom

October 31, 2010 at 9:55 pmThe cow has some issues with auto filling. Mine changed the subject to Steadicam and yours changed it to bins. Weird.
But This is why a good understand of workflow is so important to have down, before you start to edit.
