In effects, a rig is a simple set of controls and constraints that allow you to manipulate a complicated object without having to manually controlling every element.

Camera rigs are a good analogy — think of the adjustment knobs on a stereoscopic camera rig for example. Another example might be a marionette rig. You operate the cross-shaped piece, it connects to the puppet with wires, and you can get complicated leg and arm movements with simple wrist moves.

The best part of the story for me is that they mentioned a new version of Color. I’m really, really curious to see how this ties in with a color-managed, floating-point linearized color space in FCP X, and if Apple offers better FCP X integration than BMD does with Resolve 8.

You have to hold the Motion screenshots up to a mirror to see what’s hidden.
That scope image needs to be run through a device (which I forget the name of at the moment) to see what picture is actually revealed.
