September 19, 2013 at 11:56 pmAll these benchmarks are for lesser Ivy Bridge processors than the 3840.I think you’ll find that the 3840 compares very favorably to the 4770, especially in light of the higher graphics processor frequency.

September 20, 2013 at 12:07 amHi, been looking all laptops that hais commented and really is a huge mess. I still have many doubts, many people do you recommend a MacBook Pro but I see the specifications and are pretty bad. The MSI are the most configurable and post a better price, also offer the best warranty. I’ve also watched some Alienware. I keep listening to your advice.
Eric-ADK could talk to you in any way?
Thanks

September 20, 2013 at 11:50 amI don’t know what your NLE software is, but, HP, Dell and Lenovo are the only systems qualified for use with Media Composer. Any other systems aren’t qualified and won’t be supported by Avid.

September 20, 2013 at 3:29 pmThe Higher graphics Frequency ahs no bearing on Adobe, Blackmagic, or other editing software performance. There is no GPU acceleration with the Intel GPU. There is also no way a Mobile CPU compares with the Desktop CPU in performance. The 4770 is desktop and has way better performance then Ivy Mobile. Anandtech doesn’t bother to bench Mobile against Desktop CPU because there is not point due to that and it’s not a Apples to Apple test. They are showing the progression of performance of the Desktop CPU’s.
However you can use the Architecture performance difference to relate to a Apples to Apples Mobile CPU’s difference since the architecture doesn’t change from Mobile to Desktop. This means the 3840QM does not and cannot outperform the equivalent 4900MQ. BTW you can reference some nice comparison benchmarks here which is also inline with internal testing though our testing shows 15%+ for mobile. This also includes comparison to desktop CPU’s which shows Mobile is not close to those.

September 20, 2013 at 9:56 pmRight now I’m working with Premiere Pro, After Effects CS6, Resolve. In the future I would like to work with Avid. The truth that is difficult because all laptops seem the same.

September 20, 2013 at 10:00 pmThe Clevo laptops work fine with Avid if you move to that.

September 21, 2013 at 12:09 amThat’s fine….but, if you have trouble with Media Composer, you’re on your own.
