August 21, 2006 at 4:03 amIf you have a picture of a human, then you can emit it from an emitter. It’s all about the particle shape.
Check out the manual (Help files), which covers particle shapes and the requiremants for making them. You have to follow certian rules to make a particle shape work, but all the info is there.
In a nutshell, you design you particle shape, and then go into an emaitter’s properties and change the particle shape fropm the current shape to your shape image.
It;s really simple, but how you make the image, and how big it is, is very important, so read the manual.

Sometimes, they say I’m just not quite right. I think this is one of those times. 🙂
Here’s a humaniod emitter… sort of, it’s another big one. 🙁 7.5Mb
Just replace my animated (human) partical with your own.

Oh yeah, any comments or suggestions welcome. 🙂

August 21, 2006 at 2:16 pmThanks it was fun to make. 🙂
To get the human you want I think you will need to make it yourself.
If I were to do it I would film the action against a Chroma key background then bring it in to my editing software key out the background, export to images and import those images in to PI as a particle, this gives you exactly the action you need. The chances of you finding just the right action sequence for your needs I think are slim to none. Also while there are extremely life like 3D models they are expensive and nothing works as well as the real thing.

August 22, 2006 at 6:41 pmIt’s not really a particle effect, is it? It’s just using an a particle to show an animated particle shape (like the mouse emitter).
So when you ask “can you make a human emitter”, you’re really asking “does anybody have an animated sequence of a human” or “how can I make an animated sequence of a human that I can use in an emitter”.
Alan.
