How to capture HDV from Sony Hard drive, very stuck

I FINALLY figured this hard drive thing out, thank you so much for helping me out. Ed, thanks for continually posting back and forth with me, it really clarified some things for me. I’m still in school, and most of my teacher are FCP only, which makes no sense since both FCP and Avid are necessary. I have to learn a lot of avid tips and tricks by myself, like how to work with this hard drive. Thanks again to both of you for helping me out in a tight spot.

i am having the same problem…but i have a sony hdr fx1000 and avid media composer 3.5..my camera settings are 24 progressive at 1080i..ive just purchased the camera and the avid program.do i follow the same format as the gentleman you helped with the sony hard drive….i need help…. -

November 25, 2009 at 1:37 amI would definitely follow the instructions that these fine people posted, I was at 30 fps, 1080i. Just make sure your project settings are as Birger posted, it worked for me!
