How to avoid long renders from Vegas

If you give DVDA a muxed stream (combined audio & video), it’s going to re-encode it as it wants separate streams.
You avoid that by giving it what it wants in the first place. -

Click the Custom button on the MPEG-2 render screen.
Adjust the bitrate settings as desired.

OK – i was looking for a way to select AC3 for the audio portion under the MPEG2 output type.
Also – what’s the difference between the “DVD” and “MPEG2” output options? i thought DVD WAS MPEG2?
Really appreciate all the hand holding here – quite new to this stuff .. old audio guy … but i usually catch on quick once i get going!

Sorry Ken but, as I said earlier in this thread, I know there are free tools out there to give you those numbers but I don’t use them so I can’t make any suggestions.
I recommend starting a new thread and ask if anyone has any suggestions. -

They get rendered separately so that’s why the different options.

“DVD NTSC” gives you a stream that already has the audio embedded in it while “DVD Architect NTSC video stream” gives you an mpeg-2 only stream which is what DVD Architect really wants to see.
