Activity Forums Adobe After Effects how much would the RAM increase AE’s performance?

The Ram will give you someplace to cache your preview images, which means longer previews and a better workflow with 2 GB of RAM (Compared to 1GB or less), but faster processors are what speeds things up.

I heard this question asked before and what I concluded is that currenly AE tops out a 2GB of RAM.
You could add it up to 4GB for your G5 system. That way 2GB are devoted to AE and the rest to the OS and other operations. Remember you need memory just for the OS.
Processor speed does seem to make a difference
I have dual 2.7 G5 at home and it seems a bit snapper on the render but I’m not running as may apps at the same time as I do at work with my 2.0 G5 (email, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc)
    Just my 2 cents

Actually you can put in up to 8 Gig on a G5. I just uped to 7 Gig’s & I could be imagining things, but it’s going along much quicker than when I had 3 Gig. I know for certain that it is quicker than the same machine with 2.5 Gig. Can I explain it? no. But I like it.
