kill the wing and use 10 frame cross fades for audio. Also J or L cuts help.

Okay thanks. What do you mean by ‘kill the wing’?

simply don’t use hard cuts when and if it bothers you as the viewer.

But how do I avoid using them? It seems that they are in lots of places, and it’s not a matter of not using them, it’s a matter of knowing how to turn a hard cut into a soft cut.

The only places they exist are during locations changes. How do editors transition from one location to the next without it cutting so jarringly?
