[Deadhead] “That’s is pretty shocking to hear about FT and DVCproHD codec. That’s what I was planning to do with it since I have the HVX200.

Do they anticipate they can fix it?”

Just wanted to update everyone here that Silicon Color has actually not only fixed the DVCPro HD issue for us, they’ve managed to improve the HSL curves tremendously in just the past few days. I’ve gone from ready to dump the software to being seriously impressed with the dedication of the engineering team, especially Andrew Bryant who has really gone beyond the call of duty here.

Instead of letting me sell the software, they contacted me directly and asked to be given the chance to make everything right for both me and the production. They’ve delivered and in the process improved upon the controls even further. And from what they’re telling me, the integration between Final Cut Pro and Final Touch will get stronger in the near future so I guess I’m going to keep this software after all.

2 strong words of wisdom for anyone looking to purchase this. You need a specific graphics card so read up on that on the Silicon Color website to see which card is correct for your machine. Get training on this software. I brought in Bob Sliga from Chicago for about 1 full day of training and that probably saved me a month of aggravation and he showed me some very powerful tools I never would have found without the training.
