HDV 1080i60 – Export video looks horrible

I need to create a single QuickTime file that I can upload to my site. Vimeo seems to use their own player, which I cannot use for my purposes.

Do you know how I can export the video so that it retains the quality, WITHOUT THE BLUR EFFECT, such that it can be uploaded to the web?

Use one of the .h264 presets in Compressor.

I suspect the issues you’ve been having are because you were using QT Conversion. If you export a file first using Export>>Quicktime Movie at current settings, then use that in Compressor you will have better luck.

Try the preset Other Workflows>>Web>>Quicktime 7 compatible>>H.264 300kbps. If that’s not good enough try the one a 800kbps.

I’ve tried a number of settings in compression – ones you recommended and others. They do provide better images; however, they still lack the clarity of the final cut document.

The videos on your site look really good. I am working to achieve something similar.

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
