    1. none of the Razer processes need to run all the time. And neither does “steam”. Just when you play games
    2. Antivir can be disabled when you render. Just disconnect from the internet if you are afraid of being hacked.
    3. Google sidebar isn’t necessary
    4. Speedfan isn’t necessary
    5. Searchfilterhost is not a required process for Windows
    6. rocketdock doesn’t need to run at startup
You have a bunch of others that are hogging resources, but start with those. Disable those to run at startup.

I disabled all of the processes you listed above when I rendered today but it still failed and gave me the “low memory error”. The good thing is that it rendered over 3:30 minutes out of my 5:20 minute video. That’s some progress!

The only way to get around the “low memory error” is to render only 3 to 4 minute videos.

I still think this is a Windows problem. You are a gamer so you use a lot of cache memory. Can you get rid of the cache memory? Go to start-all programs-accessories-system tools-disk cleanup. It may take awhile. It will ask what you want to get rid of. I recommend everything but you really need to make sure everything with CACHE is checked. Then delete.

Is your hard drive swap file set too low? The swap file (Virtual Memory) can cause the problem you describe:

Right click My Computer and choose Properties.
In the System Properties window, click the Advanced tab.
    Under Performance, click Settings.
In the Performance Options window, click Advanced.
    Under Virtual memory, click Change.

Increase the size of the Paging file so that it is at least twice the size of your RAM, but here is a guide:

Try finding someone with 64 bit windows and 64 bit Vegas. Pop your entire project onto a portable hard disk. Open the project and when Vegas complains of missing video files, point it to your HDD. It will find the rest of the media. Render the project, and when it works (and I am pretty certain it will as I have had this issue on a number of occasions), reward the person with a carton of beer or a bottle of wine 🙂

    Intel i920, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 9 (X64), Vista x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S 4.1

Yesterday I remembered that I had a program which frees up cached memory and it’s called Smart RAM. I closed most of the unnecessary processes, used Smart RAM to clear some memory and I had over 2000 MBs of available physical memory. I also did the virtual memory tweak: https://img190.imageshack.us/img190/9846/virtualmemory.jpg . Must I have the recommended value set in the Initial size and in the Maximum size of all three drives?

I let it render but when it reached 95%, it gave me the “low memory error”. With every single render I render more and more of the video before I get the “low memory error”.

Or I can just move to a 64 bit version of Windows 7.

Additional details about my PC if you guys are wondering:
    Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit
    3 GBs RAM
    Nvidia GeForce 9600GT 512 MB
    Core 2 Duo E8200 @ 2,66 Ghz
    250 GB, 7200 RPM HDD

    Any other suggestions?
