[Craig Seeman] “Rumors are that product line has been acquired.”

I saw that page last night on FCP.co.

But when I typed Hamburg Pro Media into Google – It loaded the site and it appears that all the regular tools are still being sold and supported – INCLUDING the Mac versions.

So I’m curious where this live page is?

    I couldn’t find it.

    Is it just me?

IMF Player still very much there and Mavericks compatible.

Could it be that they simply meant Final Cut Pro 7 ?

The player and some helper apps are still being sold, but The MXF suite is gone.

It does appear something is happening, it wasn’t just killed and folded up.

Sorry, Oliver. The conspiracy seems to be a farce! 😉

I’m not sure what conspiracy you are talking about. Nothing I mentioned. In fact your comment reinforces what I was saying – that FCP X was not a good business opportunity for them.

Mac support is still there. it’s only MXF FCPX support that’s gone. Specifically the AS-11 MXF suite is gone.

but you’ll still see AVC Intra still there.

This is (was) the full suite functions.

I don’t doubt we’ll find out where it landed during IBC.

[Oliver Peters] “FCP X was not a good business opportunity for them.”

But may be for somebody else. I think that’s why there’s speculation Apple bought the suite. Apple doesn’t need to make the specific suite “profitable” but it would otherwise as value to FCPX to the small portion of the market that does need it.

Of course, in light of the BBC news, it will be interesting to see how they handle it without these tools. OTOH, Apple has been trying hard to kill off MXF, so maybe BBC will also adopt a more-ProRes-based workflow.

I agree that Apple could be an option. But now you are tossing out a “conspiracy theory”. 😉

There was a full MXF/GXF import and export suite (ImEx Suite) of products that allowed import and use of MXF media as well as export in and out of fcp7 and then on to fcpx.

That is no longer available and it’s disappeared from their website.

AVC-Intra encode is a separate product as is as-11.

The conspiracy that companies have “dropped” fcpx support.
