    > Have done “repaire” …

I would completely uninstall both Vegas Pro 8.0 and DVD Architect 5.0 and re-install them. If that doesn’t fix it, contact Sony Tech Support. Something is wrong that these renderers are not being installed.

You know… I should have looked at the picture you linked to before I made that last post.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and once I looked at it the problem was obvious. You are not using File | Render As…. You are using Render to New Track!!! That will only show you render options for file types that Vegas can edit.

Goto to: File | Render As… and you should see the same options that I have posted.

Thanks a lot, now I got it 😀

Do Sony AVC have any advantage over MainConcept AVC/AAC?

The advantage of the Sony encoder is that it supports mp4 files as well as wrapping MPEG-4 in an MPEG-2 Transport Stream (m2ts) and elementary video streams (avc). If you are making AVCHD Blu-ray files or Sony PSP files (on memory stick) I would select the Sony encoder.

When rendering for the web like you want to do, I would stick with the MainConcept encoder. It is better at web formats that play well in Quicktime. You can try both since both support mp4 but in general I use the MainConcept for web work and Sony for AVCHD/Blu-ray work.
