The lag in preview is typical with AVCHD. You should not see any lag after rendering unless your computer can’t handle the resolution. You said this was for the web so i assume you are not trying to render 1920×1080 but something much smaller. Is this the case?

Try making a render using one of the Apple iPod templates under MainConcept AVC and see if that stays in sync.

My Sony Handycam saves the AVCHD files as .m2ts

Is this the same thing that the AVCHD UpShift does?

No. AVCHD UpShift converts your AVCHD *.m2ts files into HDV *.mts files. HDV is much easier to edit and the files and you can use them for rendering (i.e., they do not have to be proxies).

Ahhh…thanks John. That may help my timeline playback.

I finally rendered an acceptable piece in MainConcept AVC format in 640×360

However, YouTube would not accept it (.mp4) and neither would Blogger.com

I just want a quality version of it on the web to be previewed by a handful of people.
