January 28, 2014 at 6:45 pmI’m just going to step in to make an alternative suggestion. It’s good to hear the nesting solution worked for you, but it’s in not a solution that would be advisable for everyone (for example, anyone going from offline editing in Premiere to online/grading outside of Premiere).
My first impression when I read your original post was that your render settings (XDCAM) are exactly the type of codec known for these sorts of issues. So my suggestion is to change your render settings (also known as preview settings) to one of the following:
- ProRes 422
- ProRes 422 HQ
- Uncompressed 8 bit
- Uncompressed 10 bit
Obviously I’ve not got your project in front of me but I suspect if you tested it this would also fix the problem. There’s not really a good reason why nesting the clip should fix this issue anyway – it sounds more like a workaround for a Premiere bug than anything.

January 29, 2014 at 3:40 pmI rendered the timeline in ProRes and the problem has stopped. It is now not necessary to nest the clips to stop this glitch problem.
Another big thanks to Alex who provided the solution to the problem.
This site, and the people who continue to contribute to it are invaluable!
