June 30, 2008 at 5:00 pmThank you Chris,
newbie here has to ask – what’s difference between the two AND – what cards are the PCI slots on a MAC for generally?

July 1, 2008 at 4:05 amAll G5’s with sufficient ram will work fine. A good graphics card is
quite helpful, I’m on FCP 6.0.3 Quad 2.5 PPC, 16gigram, and still
haven’t installed the XT1900 card I bought months ago. Been super
busy and still have the stock card the G5 came with. Knock on wood,
never had a problem, BUT I am only editing mini-dv footage right now.D’s Video

well, they are there for anything really: capture cards, sata interface etc…
the difference between PCI-E and PCI-X?
physically the PCI-E cards are usually a much shorter interface where they plugin, but they can be just as long as pci-x
PCI-E runs much faster and just about everything made now is for that interface.
