Not so strange that your nested sequences are changing fields.
“Clock face DV Anamorphic F1” has Field Dominance: Upper, while “DV Clock Field 1 nested” has Field Dominance: Lower!! -

Thanks for that it was driving me mad. Although if you look in sequence settings it said upper but if you look in item properties it said lower, I have now changed it to upper

In my version of FCP( 🙂 ) both are consistent, in setting as well as in properties: Lower Field

Very Interesting I junked prefs and looked again at original project and still get the same result.
I will have to watch out for that in future although I would not normaly change field dominence mid project
I did in this case to check things out. -
