Framerate Conversion: 23.98 Timeline With Some 29.97 Clips

Any tips on framerate conversion through Compressor vs. AE? There are some effects shots that were made in AE at 29.97.

As far as the up/down conversion of SD clips are concerned, I took the following approach.
Edited everything in an HD timeline, imported the SD clips but treated them just as place holders.
Then downconverted to SD, put the program in an SD time line and then replaced the “place holder clips” with their original SD source clips.
That way I avoided the up/down conversion problem. since you only have 15% SD, it shouldn’t be that much extra work.
