Frame rate adjustments question, audio drifting out of sync

The nature of this project involves using a variety of sources, most of which, unfortunately, are P & S 720p/1080i, and are meant to be synced to a higher-quality, separately recorded audio track. The attached audio tracks from the video sources, as well as the HQ audio track, are sampled at 44.1 KHz, which I have resampled now to 48 KHz, and am still receiving audio drift issues.

Is the Aud Format relevant in this issue? I noticed that my audio attached to my video sources, as with my sequence, have an Aud Rate of 32-bit Floating Point, whereas my separate audio source has an Aud Rate of 16-bit Integer.
