December 18, 2006 at 6:39 pmThanks- Barry – one more question… for my zip code there’s an authorized repair location in Brooklyn, NY and one somewhere in Michigan – which would you use?

December 18, 2006 at 7:19 pmFortunately, I’ve never had to have any of my DVXs or my HVX have any sort of service, so I don’t have any firsthand experience with any of them. On the other forum Specialized Communications is a frequent contributor, and they’re an authorized service center; you might try asking them what they think the issue is and if they’ve seen anything like it.
But that’s the closest I’ve come to a service center, so I can’t advise you further on that.

Get the most from your DVX camera. The DVX Book and DVX DVD are now available on ebay and at Amazon (https://www.fiftv.com/db) -

December 18, 2006 at 7:32 pmBarry – Thanks very much for all your help with this – I’ve contacted Panasonic and am now in the process of getting a Return Authorization from them – They’ll probably specify where to send it.

January 8, 2007 at 4:02 pmQuick update:
Panasonic repair informed me last week that the replacement lens was being sent from Japan this week and since that isn’t soon enough for our next shoot they are sending a loaner DVX100B until ours is returned. Normally repairs are turned around in 3-5 days but because the entire lens needed replacing – and none were kept in stock – it’s going to be more than a month total for this repair job! Your diagnosis was absolutely correct Barry. Thanks again.
