Final Cut Studio 3 still available anywhere?

It is every bit as honest as buying a copy off of Ebay – what do you think, those sellers are not cloning their copies and selling the same serial number over and over again? Apple has a very easy recourse if this bothers then – sell more copies of FCS3. If they have no desire to service their own customers then all’s fair.

I agree here to some part. If I am hearing correctly, you want to remove a computer and replace it with a new one. If that is the case, then clone the old machine! You retain the same software with the same licensing. If you wipe the old system after making the clone, you are not violating any laws or ethics.

For the record, my ebay copy was a version that some corporate marketing department bought but never actually used: the serial number was not activated so it’s technically one-owner, me. Seems they thought all you need to do is buy some software and you can make brilliant marketing videos from day one with zero skills.

I called Apple today and they said you have to call them to order FCS 3 and it costs $999. It usually ships within 24 hrs. Apple’s number 1-800-692-7753.
