Yeah, I know that 30pN will get you 30p. But they said they shot 60p.
But, we shouldn’t assume. Need to get the details from the OP.

720p60 is a standard format. DVCPRO HD uses it, HDV from JVC does it, H.264 from the Canon 7D. That is a standard format.
1080p60 is not a standard format. FCP, Avid (guessing about Premiere)…ALL of them..don’t edit that format. It isn’t the software that is the issue, it is the codec. 1080p60 is NOT STANDARD. That that software edits STANDARD formats.
Blame Panasonic for coming up with a 1080p60 AVCHD format that no one can edit. If this is indeed footage from that 700 camera.

Premiere Pro does not have a preset for 1080p60 in AVCHD presets, but I’d be curious to see if it would play correctly in CS5. Any test footage on a Panasonic site that we could try?

If this truly is 1080p60 material, then you should use clipwrap to transcode the movies to ProRes, then conform
Those movies to 29.97 using Cinema Tools.For the record, FCP does support 1080p60 just not through log and transfer yet.

Unfortunately the actual clip is being put into 30 (I checked it out in the browser)

Alright here are the details. Shot in 720 at 60P, recorded in avchd. Brought in via log and transfer and the browser window confirms that the footage is being changed to 30P. Not quite sure what is going wrong.

Phew, ok. Thanks for that. What camera?
In the log and transfer prefs, there’s a checkbox that you should uncheck. It’s the remove advanced pulldown and duplicate frames option. Uncheck that box and reimport.

Panasonic HMC150. The checkbox solution worked but my secondary question is in regards to actually incorporating the footage into the sequence. The rest of the project is at 30P (as is the sequence the footage is in) but when I drop the clip into the sequence and reduce the speed it is clear that frame blending is being used. How do I get that smooth slow motion effect for just that clip in my sequence? Thank you all for your help!

Like I said before, you have to open that clip in Cinema Tools (you might want to think about duplicating the clip), but if not, FROM THE FINDER right lick on the clip, choose open with > Cinema Tools. Then click the conform button and choose 29.97. This will slow your clip by half.
