Ah, I’m not being that heavy really. But sometimes you gotta hit people over the head. Sure it’s funny. When you’re broke too and you’ve just scammed a bunch of folks. Ever watch that show “con” on comedy central? It’s pretty funny. But the people he cons do actually get advertising out of it by being on TV. And the fact that they fall for his pathetic cons almost makes them deserving.

I’m just saying don’t fall for this con. He probably needs the money because he’s one of those editors that underprices himself at $100 a day. We all love those guys don’t we?

[Bret Williams] “Ah, I’m not being that heavy really. But sometimes you gotta hit people over the head.”

I kind of agree with Brett on this one. $5,000 is not a whole lot of money and if he’s been editing since 2003 (that’s when he said he got the other machine) it should be a cinch to get a new machine. My new G5, monitor, etc… were all paid off in less than a week.

So use the credit card, make the purchase and pay it off with your work. If you can’t afford the G5 based on the hours you’re working, then don’t purchase it and wait until your rates are high enough to purchase one.

Blowing up the G4 is not enough I want to see him blow up his apartment. After he is homeless he could apply for welfare and not have to work at all.

A professional engaged in the business of editing for a living need not beg for money to allow themselves to profit from the donations of others.

Why not sell the G4 and invest in new gear. If he is not making enough money to justify the cost of a G5 then he does not need one nor can he afford one. His business is a for profit business which means either run the business to produce a profit which enables him to reinvest in new gear or use the same gear until time allows the capital to purchase new gear.

Blowing up the G4 is stupid given the fact he could use it for his business as a 2nd workstation if he did actually buy a G5.

To get this topic back on track and out of the gutter – this is what he should do to the G4 – https://www.richardcassidy.com/tigersprout/wp-content/beerserver_s2.jpg
