Yes, one must assume that it’s a sinister plot by big, bad Apple to bilk unsuspecting customers out of their hard-earned cash. There can be no other explanation.

August 14, 2009 at 2:09 pm[Joseph Tyndall] “It has been confirmed by users that Final Cut 7, Motion and all do indeed work perfectly on a 2ghz or greater G5.
By simply using “pacifist” to install the application – bypassing Apple’s hardware check allows the
software to install. “this is really bad advice- you get to answer all of the FCP7 on G5 questions then- the ones on WHY it does not work, why its got no realtime, why doesn’t it render faster.
Too bad they will not get some of the best features on the new apps- or how they cannot get ProRes4444 to playback properly,
note that playing back FCP7 on a G5 hardware negates all of the RTX functionality with anything other than DV25 footage so you might as well go back to FCP 4.
Oh and forget about new versions of Photoshop or AE- they will be intel only also.

September 10, 2009 at 3:01 amWhile most of CS4 including AE requires Intel, Photoshop CS4 runs on a G5. No trick needed. Right there in Adobe’s requirements.
