October 24, 2005 at 7:18 pmI am still confused. So what is the baseline? Does it do real time?
The best approach is what Steve has proposed, going offline. But steve can you be more specific how can I change the file. I mean, consider my workflow, I have a targa sequence. Let’s assume I make two .mov files: one uncompressed and another DVCPRO HD. I do the editing on DVCPRO HD file, and once I am finished, how can I replace it with the uncompressed one? Should I just rename the file or is there a finer way of doing it?
You asked what setting did I use? I tried so many things, I can’t even tell you what I tried and not, it would be better if you can tell me what settings to use, but I don’t want to compromise on quality. Any suggestions?

No — no realtime on your systems with what you have told us about your workflow as it stands today.
Can others edit HD in RealTime?
Yes, but not the way you are set up. Walter, Steve and I do it everyday.
Walter and I work mostly in 720p, I believe Steve works mostly in 1080 ( right?)SO lets start over –
What are you trying to accomplish with your FCP system?
Are you going back to film or are you attempting to try DI.
Are you working with Flex files and Keycode.what is your final project deliverables – Filmout, HD, SD or DVD – NTSC or PAL
IT sounds as if you are treating your FCP system as something else altogether and you should really think about
getting a professional to setup and guide you thru this process. it is not plug and play – editing UnCompressed HD
footage is not an easy task needs to be treated with a little respect.Gary Adcock

Sorry Gary, I thought when you said compression format you meant compressed – what is Panasonic’s uncompressed format called?
