November 20, 2009 at 3:41 pmAnother Question:
If I have ProRes SD footage. Is it better to work in a timeline that is set to “None” compression (which requires me to render the sequence) or to work in a sequence set to “ProRes”? When I render the footage in a “None” sequence and export the footage it looks better than prores, but the interlacing on movement is way more apparent than when exporting a prores 9at least it is on my cinema display). Now, when I upload to DG is this going to matter, or is it just the fact that i am not viewing this on a broadcast monitor? Also, the graphics appear cleaner when I use the “none” compression setting over a “ProRes” sequence.

Better where? Not on a broadcast monitor. None is 8bit RGB. ProRes is 10bit YUV and has an uncompressed quality. I’d stick with ProRes.

November 20, 2009 at 10:39 pmIf I change my sequence settings to no field dominance on the ProRes it seems to make the motion crisper as well as the graphics. will this effect broadcast at all?
