Well, you aren’t going to have backwards compatibility between FCP6 and FCP5 anyway, so you might as well update to 6.0.2 and it will save you loads of time and energy, and probably most important frustration.

I found that FCP 5.1.4 and FCP 5.1.x were backward compatible. Not sure about 6.0.2 and 6.0.1.

I’m not talking about going between 6 and 5. I mean going between 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 it’s not backwards compatible. Its not a huge issue as long as all the machines get updates, but some editors are in the middle of projects and the company is wary up updating until they are finished.

I hear you. I updated in the middle of several projects and haven’t had an issue. 6.0.2 is so much better. I was ready to throw out all of my computers with 6.0.1 and go back to linear.

    Updated yesterday to 6.0.2

FCP crashed over night while exporting (tomorrow doing a clean install of OS) and when I reopened the renders were all still connected.

    Thanks for the help.
