Whatever drive is faster, is the fastest way.

Delete the disabled clips and the writing video message will go away.

I don’t think I have any disabled clips. Here’s a timeline that wants to write to video before an edit to tape layback.

It’s really no big deal I’m just curious more than anything. I have much longer timelines with the same setup that don’t ask to write anything.

Select all, then hit command-option-r to mixdown your audio.

Plus you have some light grey bars up there. It doesn’t look like everything is fully rendered. The slates (or whatever those are) being some of them.

Make sure your Sequence > Render Selection and Sequence > Render All menus have all of the options checked. Then render all, then try again.

There is no reason you should be WRITING TO VIDEO. The slates need rendering (dark green render bar), but that’s it. Adding slug between the cuts won’t really do anything (sorry Jeremy).

Take a snapshot of your RT settings and post those please.

This fixed it. Multiclip turned off didn’t do anything. Thanks everyone.

PS Shane, no green bars on the jpeg of my timeline above the slates. Working in 8 bit so no need to render boris slates.

I’d still render everything, even the titles.

Everything is definitely already rendered pre-layback. I render as I edit.

And the files you are getting back from mix are 24bit or 16? my guess is 16, hence the rendering that is working for you.

Also, those titles are still unrendered. I’d check the ‘full’ option in the Sequence menu and render all before layback.

Anyway, glad we found it.
