Well, We purchased our EX-1 in 2007… Mid 2009 Our ND selector switch broke, smashed into the lens system. Simply a lousy design I suspect, our selector was always dificult to engage.

After 4 weeks of repair and a $545.00 repair bill. Our Back focus seemed to be off. I complained they said send it back and they will get back to me on how much it will cost!

I decided to live with a softer focus… My last Sony product!

    Such is life…

    Hi Allister,

I’ve done the whole back focus procedure a few times now,

and still the back focus is off when there is no ND filter on.

back focus seems fine with ND1 and ND2

I’m curious in your experience did doing the back focus procedure in the camera yourself ever help temporarily or not at all ever?

So I’ve just want to be clear, you’re saying the only way the problem could be fixed with Sony replacing the lens?

    Thanks,
    Matt
