Right. Thanks a lot. It’ll take some time getting used to this camera. My DOP is Taiwanese and hasn’t translated all of the settings to Chinese yet.

Would I be correct in assuming the same advice should hold true for 720 24p, and that a 24p timeline would make the 60 fps stuff even slower?

And, is there any way to convert the 60p stuff down to 30p or 24p to make it look a little more natural? I was experimenting with a commercial project for a hotel(whoops). I think they’ll want a softer look.

Absolutely. The slowest slow mo effect would be to shoot 720 24p at a frame rate of 60.

Not that I’ve tried putting 30p or 60p into a 24p project myself I’m pretty sure that you can do the frame rate conversion successfully. Just drop your 30p stuff into a 24p timeline, right or control click on the footage and choose media manager. The window that pops up will allow you to transcode the footage into 24p. Or you can highlight the 30p footage, go to the file menu and choose “Export Using Compressor.” which will essentially give you more options to convert to 24p. If it was me I don’t think I’d go the 24p route because it may make the footage even more jerky as there’s even less temporal resolution to work with. But you can do a test with any of the frame rates and choose which one looks best.
