Lance,
That’s some comprehensive data you’ve got there. Care to share?

LOL – I was JUST watching this before I read your post! I already have my pre-order in and I’m really anxious to see how my Voigtlander and Lumix lenses pair with this camera. I agree with you about Nikon and Canon. I also think Panasonic, Red and Sony missed the boat here. As it turns out, a lot of people really do want relatively inexpensive, high DR cameras that record lightly compressed CODECs onto commodity media… go figure.
If the BMPCC fits my needs like I think it will, my next question will be; is the higher spacial resloution and global shutter of the BMPC 4k worth the tradeoff of an extra stop in DR of the BMCC. 🙂

Apparently unlike the other company Blackmagic used for the original BMCC sensor, this company knows what they’re doing as far as testing and QC. It seems the design company rents the manufacturing facility as needed.
Here’s an interesting article mostly on the BMPC sensor but mentions the Pocket Camera as well towards the bottom.
Also this speculative article.

It’s funny you say that Lance,
I recently picked up a our first 4/3 cameras (a couple of GH3s for their small, slomo capability) and subsequently got new 4/3 Primes like the 45mm Zuiko – which is a great little lens.Anyway, yeah, I’ve actually ordered three BMPCs.

Sorry should have said “many” which could be a little or a lot but the “majority” of the camera tests I’ve been looking at on Vimeo that mention their NLE are using FCPX.

arf! lets be fair – the one true anointed son of FCP has had a pretty good conversational run lately.
Really interesting article too – the event library always does look seriously tasty on its own monitor.https://vimeo.com/user1590967/videos http://www.ogallchoir.net promo producer/editor.grading/motion graphics
