I edit on these drives all the time and they are plenty fast enough. I would recommend them without hesitation. The question is does your school computers have USB 3.0 ports or USB 2.0 ports because USB 2 will be too slow.

March 19, 2017 at 11:54 amGreat! I don’t think you’ll have any problem with the 1TB HGST Touro S via USB 3.0 then. Just make sure it’s the 7200 RPM version for fastest access.
I use two of them: One contains the all of my Camera Card Archives and the other has all of my Libraries. This way if something happens to either, I have the other as a backup. You might not need that for school but it’s something to get in the habit of doing (i.e., backing up your camera cards separate from your project work) as you go forward. Good Luck!
