I noticed you were only giving the deck a 3 second pre-roll. Try setting the pre-roll to 4 or 5 seconds. See if that helps.

If you have the option of terminating with a switch rather than a 75ohm termination plug, use the switch. You don’t need a separate plug. Try a longer preroll. I run my 1800 at three seconds and have never had it abort an edit yet. If the machine is working correctly, it should be OK. Try a longer preroll just to be safe. I’m still wondering if you can hear or see the machine trying to lock during the rollup to the edit. Does it seem to speed up and slow down as it attempts to lock?

I set my pre-roll to 7 seconds, positive I did it right and saved it, but the machine is still using 3 seconds. When I send the sequence to ETT the horizontal wavers all over the place, the picture will not lock up, and when it hits the in point the deck stops.

It’s working again! I think I had the wrong setting while blacking my tape, but it’s back to normal now, thanks everyone.
