DVCPRO HD Exporting as 1920 and not 1280!

I had this happen randomly shortly after 6.0 came out (not any of the recent updates).
Certain clips in the timeline (which were the correct 1280 x 1080 size) would cause the export to be at 1920 x 1080. I added the Broadcast safe filter to them and rendered. FCP now referenced the render files instead of the original media, and the export would then work at the the correct size.

It could be any filter (I just picked that one, since it seemed like a good idea anyway.)

Brilliant, that makes so much sense. That way you are forcing another render before export and not passing raw media, which QT makes assumptions about (raw media that is). This is the way to fix 10 bit scaling issues as well. (I use the desaturation filter set to 0, so it basically does nothing). Great call.

Or you could apply a text layer over the whole project with no text in it.

Just tried exporting a 25 minute show with the blank title over the whole film and it exported correctly.

Not a great solution because we shouldn’t have to do tricks like this, but it worked!

Same problem here…

720p exports as 1280×720 square pixel aspect ratio instead of 960×720 HD (960X720) pixel aspect ratio.

Could very well be the pro Apps update.
