A split screen of SDI vs Firewire captured footage? We’ve done that on several FCP systems and even did a split of my Kona 2 vs an AVID DS/HD system. In all cases, there’s zero difference between Firewire and HD-SDI captures from a 1200A deck. We could never see the split either on the scopes or visually on the monitor. As Bob notes, it’s just digital information regardless of how it comes in so it’s all identical.
Not really sure where the difference comes from your tests, but they should look identical on capture.
