The D800 films for 30 minutes and produces stunning images on the Ninja2 with uncompressed HDMI out. I think the ned D600 does to.

Canon semés to have à beatifull Battery depth of field look, I love Nikons clear precision images but the canons do seem to have that cinematic look

I have tryed frames from hd video (canon 650) and they are far away from still pictures,
my experience is to have a camera for video and other for pictures, thats why I bought 3 cameras (650) instead of a 1 full frame.

    for lenses I use :

    tokina 11 – 16 mm 2.8
    tamrom 24 – 70 mm 2.8
    2 canon 50mm 1.4
    nikkor 100 mm 2.8
    nikkor 24 mm 2.8

I have recorded more than 700 hours of multiple projects with al sorts of weather, light and conditions, I love my set of canons 650 – t4i

im wondering if the Panasonic 150 v camera and a canon 6D can be a good combination for weddings,

aside the idea i asked about grabbing pictures from the videos im also actually asking for advise on which camera

    my list again:
    *Full Frame,
*HD VIDEO, as well as live video out,
    *Optional lenses, 27-100+ & 35mm
    *Good Depth of field,
*Decent recording time, not only a few minutes or i have to get a ninja card for SLRs if they are worth it?.

5D Mk III is definetly a great choice. You haven’t mentioned a budget.

Sony NEX FS700U is a great choice, but it will cost a lot more.

Canon’s new C100 is also great.

The FS700 and C100 are video cameras that let you mount DSLR lenses. It gives you the audio and video controls you need in a video camera.

Also, it’s a good idea to have a 60D or equal camera to give you a cropped image. This comes in handy when you are stuck in the back when shooting (which happened to me recently). It’ll save you when you need a bit more distance coverage.

Lenses in order of importance. If you have the budget, buy them all.

    All Canon L-Series lenses;

    24-70mm 2.4
    70-200 2.4
    50mm 1.4 macro ( I also use an inexpensive $250 lens on my 60D)
    80mm 1.4
14mm (if you use a steadicam or glidecam)
    100mm
