Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Does FCS3 come with manuals?

    [Ed Dooley] “BTW, My FCS2 Upgrade came with all manuals. But I’ve heard that FCS3 does not. “

    Not sure why we need them, they’re all right there in the “Help” menu. I haven’t touched the manuals since FCP 5.0. Much easier to go Help > Final Cut Pro Manual > Search for what I need to know.

    About time they dropped the paper manuals quite frankly. Just a waste of paper when it’s all in digital format.

    It also means nobody reads them. They’re a great reference indeed in digital form, but when you’re starting out, actually sitting down and reading a manual is great. I wish more people did it as you did in v5.

    Speak for yourself. I like printed manuals as I can take them anywhere for enjoyable reading. Can’t do that with a manual in a digital form.

    I would like it to be an option, I would buy the box with the printed manuals and for those that don’t like them, they wouldn’t have to be bothered.

    This is an aside;
    but Kevin that is interesting information given your response to my other post —

    If there are no printed manuals, and the installer discs all contain the same language support (English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese and some Chinese), what is the difference between the various versions of the software if I buy it in Germany vs. France or the UK or U.S./Canada?

    Just the printing on the box?

    Any language version can be switched to any other language version by setting the language for the app in the get info window at the Finder level. The only issue comes in with non-QWERTY keyboards and such.

    All the best,

    I’m installing mine now, it arrived an hour ago.
    No manuals, just a small book on the basics of FCP.
