Earlier this year I found out that the Shake team leader at Apple is also the Motion team leader. Perhaps there will be an app called “Shamotion” in everyone’s Apple future.

That’s correct. Dion was the guy who launched Motion. I believe he took over the Shake team after it was announced that Shake was EOL so I’m sure he’s part of the group that’s going to come up with whatever is going to be released in the future.

When Shake went EOL, didn’t they say that they would introduce the next generation compositing tool called Phenomenon in 08? Or is that just a code-name?

Yep…but only in rumors (i.e., no official Apple announcements) 🙂
