There’s a “TRACK” tab at the top of the node graph, in-between the CLIP and UNMIX tabs. When you open the TRACK tab, you can create a node tree that’s applied to every single clip of the session (in combination with each clip’s individual grade), and you can freely alter and add to this node tree at any time, just like any other grade.

I was under the impression that in order to batch a number of clips together they all had to have the same number of nodes. Is that incorrect? That’s why I’ve tended to stay away from the batch function.
Are you saying that I could grade 10 shots differently, then batch them together, append a node to give those 10 shots a uniform adjustment, then un-batch them to make them all independent again? This is counter to what I understood before but it would be welcome news.

PS. I find that the documentation on Resolve’s functionality is lacking in general. Where do you guys go to look things up?

I’m not sure what you mean by “batch,” but if you’re talking – as I was – about making a group selection and creating a new group, the answer is yes, what you stated is incorrect. If you create an Append node, it is placed at the end of the node tree in every shot, regardless of how many previous nodes are present. In my test, I intentionally used shots that had differing numbers of nodes and it worked just as I described.

I find group grading on Resolve a bit lacking. If I create a group and I want to match just one shot in that group to the rest of the shots in that group, I can’t find a way to un-gang that shot, which greatly diminishes the whole idea of group grading.

    Hi ,

If I am not wrong , if you right click on the shot you want to un-gang , you will find an “add new version” option. click it and give a name to that shot alone.. I hope I understood your question and replied to the context .
