I’m a music composer, new to DaVinci Resolve and new to video editing. I’m having a lot of fun with this brilliant program putting together a video of a song I wrote.
Having edited together the video, I added lyrics, kind of “singalong” style, but it occurred to me the text is a bit hard to read, so I’d like to make some changes i.e., bolder font, semi-opaque background, drop shadow here and there, etc.
There literally are dozens of text boxes in the piece so, if possible, I’d love to be able to decide upon settings for the first text box and apply them globally to each remaining text box. My intuition tells me there’s an easier way to do it than to manually reproduce all the settings box-by-box. I realize applying settings globally will still leave a lot of individual tweaking, but that would be a lot easier than “reinventing the wheel” for each line of lyrics.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Thank you Simon; that’s exactly what I needed.

You can also use the subtitle tool to make them

Thanks, Ricardo. I’ll look into that next.

[Simon Ubsdell] “Select all the title clips on your timeline by lassoing them. Then edit one of the instances and they will all update accordingly.”
I am doing some titles at the moment so I just checked and changing font deleted all text. Other features can be changed like drop shadow etc but changing fonts on a lasso group doesn’t seem to work

That’s good to know. Thanks.
