The interaction with the controls would obviously be very responsive. By real-time, I’m talking about the playback frame-rate when you play the timeline with corrections applied. In regards to Resolve, the more color correction nodes you apply to individual shots, the more impact this has on playback performance.

One more question and I’ll quite bothering you.
I am scoping out hard drives.
I am using only SATA II drives. I tried SATA III drives in my 2010 Mac Pro in March and I had to return them……lots of problems.

Are you using SATA II drives in the RAID 0 setup?

I’m on a Mac Pro 4,1 (purchased 2009). Depending on whether I’m using raw drives for archiving or for media, I’ve used a variety of WD Caviar (Greens and Blacks), SATA II. These are the 3Gb/s drives. At a client site, he’s used the Seagate Barracuda XT drives. Media drives should be SATA II, 7200RPM. I don’t believe SATA III drives are internally-compatible with any Mac Pro tower, but I could be wrong. I believe those are for some of the newer drive array chassis.

Have you considered jumping into deeper waters like After Effects?
If of course you have the budget and resources.
Ive had to do numerous lighting fixes with live events such as bands, shows and public speakings.
You have pre-plan no matter what NLE you are using.
