I read that he is delivering a DVD video disc so yes MPEG2-DVD will be your preset of choice. DVD studio pro does not compress the file but will multi-plex the mpeg 2 video file and the audio file (you should set this to Dolby BTW) And no you do not get the option to use a closed GOP in AME

Here is your optimal workflow and I would start with a 10 sec to 1 min sequence so you will not have to wait forever to see if you have a successful encode.

    1. export from AME using your desired settings with the MPEG-DVD preset. If your program is longer than an hour then use VBR with a bitrate lower than 6 if closer to 2 hours use 4.5. Do not multiplex with AME, with this setting choose Dolby as your audio codec and it will export a separate file.

After it is complete, import both those files into DVDSP they should be exactly the same length, add you chapter markers dual layer break point, angles, menus or whatever else you have to throw in on the disk and then build the disk. If you have any questions about the DVDSP side of the process I would suggest asking in that forum as you will most likely find some really good help.

Now if that sounds like to much trouble you can always export a Prores 422 HQ file and dump that into Apple compressor. the output from compressor already has meta data included for DVDSP and will not take as long to queue once it is imported.

    (EDIT)

I just re read your OP and I would export each angle out of PrPro as a ProRes and then compress with compressor for work in DVDSP creating a multi-angle disk. Not sure how Encore handles that or if it is possible. I am not seeing any advanced authoring options for Multi angle
