May 9, 2011 at 7:34 pm[Ryan Graves] “Do you have any scripts that already work without generating them, or can you recommend any?”
I don’t know of any free ones off-hand but I just realized that our Ultimate S Lite product will also do this. Ultimate S Lite is only $69USD and you can use it for free for 15-days which means you can downlaod it and use it to fix your problem today and then have 15 days to decide to keep it or look for a free script for the things you want.
Here is our training video on the marker Tab that has this functionality and more:

May 9, 2011 at 7:52 pmI did exactly what you said, copied the text included, saved it as the name you specified using Notepad, gave it the .js extension, put it in my Scripts folder, rescanned the scripts folder, ran it, keep getting an error message. Vegas Pro 10 here.

May 9, 2011 at 7:53 pmAlso is there a master “normalize” setting I can apply to a single track so that everything is the same volume throughout the DVD, or close to it?

May 9, 2011 at 9:58 pmPlease ignore the above post as the script should look like this:
import Sony.Vegas;
Vegas.Cursor = Vegas.Cursor + Timecode.FromSeconds(300); -

My apologies Ryan as there was an error in what I posted.
The script should look like this:import Sony.Vegas;
Vegas.Cursor = Vegas.Cursor + Timecode.FromSeconds(300); -

May 9, 2011 at 10:07 pmBut it doesn’t automatically create the marker, that’s what I’m looking for, not to jump forward 5 minutes and then have to manually make the marker anyway.

Then take John’s suggestion and try Ultimate S Lite.

Normalization is performed at an event level in Vegas. You can select all of the events and right-click on one of them and select Switches | Normalize. This does not necessarily make them all the same volume. It normalizes each event individually with respect to 0dBFS.
