Change Speed of Audio while Maintaining Pitch

Sample rate is the how many samples per second the audio is measured in. Its the 44.1k 48k thing.
Imagine a squiggly audio waveform. If you zoom way in on it, you can see the smooth curves turn into little staircases.That’s the only way to digitize an analog signal. Each one of these steps is a sample. If you audio is 48k, there are 48,000 steps per second.
FCP will allow you to manipulate the audio down to the sample, so in a sense, audio is really 48,000 fps.
This has nothing to do with my question though 🙂

so, just like with everything that doesn’t come through in an omf, you mix down the audio (with handles) and overcut it before making the omf. Or, you don’t, and you just use it as a reference for the mixer to redo professionally.

Paul is right. I’ve learned that jumping out of FCP into Soundtrack Pro and exporting back into FCP for things that Soundtrack Pro was designed to do that FCP was not designed to do can save you time in certain circumstances.

For a speed change of 105%, we entered a value of -200 to correct pitch.

I have created an FCP Speed Chart which I use to do Music Videos with, back in 2007. I wanted all my speed change audio playback to have the EXACT PITCH of the original music.
Not sure if this is useful. Anyway, its been tested in a PAL environment. Enjoy!
