April 29, 2011 at 9:53 pmSet your recording format to 480i and Rec Mode to DV. Then match the settings in final cut. Then I would believe you can hit record on the Panasonic and do a capture now in final cut.

May 2, 2011 at 3:57 pmMy recording format is 480i, 720/30P and Rec Mode is DV. I have FCP set to non-controllable device and capture settings set to DV NTSC Animorphic (fps 29.97).
Again, I can see the camera output in FCP when the camera is set to record to tape, but I still get “Preview Disabled” when in P2 mode.

This doesn’t make any sense.

May 2, 2011 at 4:58 pmEverything should be in 480i dv25 (or dv50). If you don’t want to record in HD, then set your camera for SD.

May 9, 2011 at 4:11 pmI’m sorry, I don’t understand. In the Recording Setup menu The first item is Rec Format which is set to 720/30P. The second item is 480i Record Mode. To the left of it reads “DV” in blue text, but I’m not able to change it. I see nothing that allows me to switch between HD and SD recording.
