May 2, 2007 at 10:51 pmHit the nail on the head. know that with any uncompressed format its always a good idea (if not absolutly necessary) to be running dual fibre/dual controllers to the spindles. fully loaded Xserve RAID 14 x 500GB drives DAS should get you around 120-160 MBs per controller = 240-360 MBs per RAID theoretically. The more you diminish the Drive modules per Controller the greater the performance decrease.

Oh man, go for it. It’ll be all good. DVCPro HD is clearly exactly what you need here, unless you feel like populating your entire array on your job you are doing for free.
