January 15, 2010 at 7:21 pmAuxilary timecode is just that, alternate timecode that can used by multi-cam to sync clips. To activate it highlight a clip, hit Modify / Timecode and you’ll see where you can change the actual timecode of a clip or else enter up to 2 different Aux timecodes. This works very well for syncing clips with different timecodes.

January 15, 2010 at 8:08 pmGrady, if you capture the footage properly, I think your problems will go away. Capturing as a non controllable allows for many more variations than a true log an capture. You have to log enough pre and post roll to capture the tape properly, that means at least 5 seconds before and after each tc break. It sucks, but thems the breaks. Pun absolutely intended.

Thank you. So far that is what the problem was. I did a bit of tweeking of settings and did a batch capture and so far vids are syncing. (minus a drop-out or two on a clip, hopefully I can just re-capture again) The XL2 did need a head cleaning prior to project. Maybe wasn’t 100%.
Well, I’m learning everyday with this thing they call technology, so thanks for your help. Thank you to the others for the tips, as well.Grady

January 18, 2010 at 2:39 pmYou should be able to recapture the dropout areas. Now that you have properly captured footage with tc, this should be very easy.
